About FAKTMAP

A community-driven map of interesting facts from around the world.

FAKTMAP lets anyone pin interesting facts to any location on Earth. Every pin tells a story – from historical events and scientific discoveries to funny memes and local legends.

How it works

Click "Choose location" and tap anywhere on the map.
Write your fact, pick a marker color and a tag (e.g., MEMES, HISTORY).
Click "Save" – your fact appears on the map for everyone to see!

Tech stack

Maplibre GL – open-source interactive maps (no usage limits)
Flask + PostgreSQL (Aiven) – backend and database
Render – hosting with automatic SSL and global CDN

Why we built this

We believe every place has hidden stories worth sharing. FAKTMAP is a lightweight, open platform for discovering the world through other people's eyes. No tracking, no registration required – just pure exploration.
